EQ-5D-3L | Valuation
Over the years, value sets for EQ-5D-3L have been produced for many countries/regions. Value sets have been generated using either the time trade-off (TTO) valuation technique or the visual analogue scale (VAS) valuation technique. A number of countries/regions have both TTO and VAS value sets for EQ-5D-3L. A list of all currently available value sets for the EQ-5D-3L can be found in the table below. It is also possible to use EQ-5D-3L data to predict utilities based on the EQ-5D-5L. If an EQ-5D-3L value set is not available for your country/region but a value set for an EQ-5D-5L version is available, then the “crosswalk” mapping function by van Hout (2021) can be used to derive utility values. Approaches to map EQ-5D-3L responses to EQ-5D-5L value sets also enable users to assess the potential implications of switching to the newer version of the instrument.
